PORAC Legal Defense Fund The PORAC Legal Defense Fund is not an insurance policy, nor is it administered by an insurance company. It is a non-profit organization whose funds are used solely for the defense and support of Law Enforcement Officers, with an almost 40-year proven track record. The Board of Directors is comprised of active duty Law Enforcement Officers, and the 24/7 legal administration office is staffed with attorneys and legal assistants with direct experience in Law Enforcement Officer defense.The LDF provides coverage to you if you acted within the scope of your duties as a law enforcement officer and you are either subjected to a criminal investigation or prosecution or a civil proceeding.If you are involved in a criminal investigation or prosecution, or civil proceeding, and you were acting in the scope of your duties, you can reach out to the PORAC LDF any time, 24/7, at:

As of December 31, 2023, FCOP’s Life Insurance Policy through the Hartford is being discontinued.
- Please see the attached letter terminating the policy as of December 31, 2023.
- You will receive the attached Notice of Conversion and/or Portability Rights form instructions if you would like to apply to continue coverage with the Hartford individually.
- If you have submitted the Conversion and/or Portability Rights form and received a notice from The Hartford denying portability, details about conversion can be found on page 24 of the Benefit Plan.
